Health and Obesity
By: James & Blaze
Thesis
Just simple change in diet and an hour of physical activity a day can do a lot for an overweight person’s health and state of mind. If we can achieve this then we can solve our problem of obesity. However every three out of four people in the United States are currently overweight or obese, with federal medical costs averaging 300 billion dollars, per year. Most of which will end up with a life threatening disease within a few years of being obese.
Introduction
Today’s society is filled with life threatening problems. But obesity is a rising factor in our fight for survival. The true question is how will we change our ways to become healthier? The answer is simple. You will learn that just simple change in diet and an hour of physical activity a day can do a lot for an overweight person’s health and state of mind. If we can achieve this then we can solve our problem of obesity. However every three out of four people in the United States are currently overweight or obese, with federal medical costs averaging 300 billion dollars, per year. Most of which will end up with a life threatening disease within a few years of being obese.
1st Body Paragraph
But does anybody care about the source of our obesity? Fast food restaurants play a big part in this but conventional food also play part in our obesity. However we are the problems that make us obese. People have the choice and chance to stay away from fast food ,but rather than taking the time to cook something they take the other way out. We can choose to eat healthy but most people take the easy route and buy fast food. If we can cut out this need we can solve our obesity problem.
2nd Body Paragraph
The big thing we need to change is our future generation. Without change the world will become more obese due to advancing technology that makes life easier. If you walk into one of today's stores what do you see? Mostly electronics and things that make everyday life easier, right. Because of this more and more people will die from diseases caused by obesity and lack of exercise. Before this happens we need to teach today's kids more about health and get them active. If we don't start now we might lose the battle against obesity.
3rd Body Paragraph
Childhood behaviors like physical activity and their food intake are a couple of the factors of childhood obesity. Then as life goes on these once obese kids now become adults, and will have kids of their own. Now their children have a higher chance genetically of becoming obese due to their obese parents and this will continue throughout generation. Then, When you look at your children's schools you will see that what they are doing is not helping as well. there are only 4 states in the U.S that actually require P.E. classes until your a junior.
4th Body Paragraph
If we can become healthier people we will succeed even more. Just imagine if we would come out of this epidemic successful and more aware. With this information you can change lives of people in need. We will also achieve even more if we were more active in our lives. We could also spend our time and money more wisely. We could find the cure for cancer, AIDS, and any other things that are far more deadly. Without obesity our society would be greater than what it has been.
Conclusion
But in the end it is up to you to make the healthy choices. You don't have to do the exercising or eat healthy. It is your choice after all to do what is needed to become healthier. You dont have too go the extra mile and eat healthy and exersice but to become healthy you must give an effort.
