Prologue

Recently the United States experienced a severe economic recession that many politicians compared with The Great Depression of the 1930s. My Grandmother Ida blah blah.

For this project, I created a fictional character, Sue, who is actually my mom, but she did not write the letter, I did. I wanted to reinforce the idea that children don't always know what life was like for their parents when they were young.
